Default advantage of recycling

I think recycling will end with less garbage. And add jobs to economy, slow the consuming of natural resource. Also i think recycling limits the amount of glass paper and plastic that must be produced.

will you accept it?

There are lot of advantages of recycling. The only one thing i can think of is recycling will make the world a little cleaner.

Advantages:

-- Recycling helps to limit the amount of glass, paper, and plastic that must be produced. This will end with less garbage in landfills because it's being reused. Currently, 30% of all refuse is recycled.
-- Adds jobs to the economy;
-- Slows the consuming of natural resources;
-- Makes people environmentally aware;
-- Promotes scientific advancements in recyclable and biodegradable materials;
-- Makes governments and businesses choose programs and apply policies in consideration of preserving and respecting the environment.

Disadvantages:

-- Separate factories must be set up for the recycling of materials, and this will just cause more pollution and energy consumption for transport, sorting, cleaning and storage;
-- Twice as many trucks on the road: those collecting garbage and those collecting recycled goods;
-- Pollutants produced by the recycling process itself, including chemical stews when breaking down different products;
-- Recycling is not cost-efficient and annually results in a net loss. It costs $50-60 to landfill a ton versus $150+/- to recycle a ton;
--Only the recycling of aluminium really makes any money. Reclaiming metals is feasible and fairly easy, whereas plastics and paper are expensive, wasteful and overly difficult;
-- Adds to taxes, and is a tax subsidy costing 8 billion a year in the USA alone;
-- Creation of low-quality jobs. Jobs include sifting through garbage to separate it, dealing with the toxins from the breakdown process, and other manual-intensive labor tasks;
-- A considerable percentage of items marked as recyclable end up trashed or burned anyway due to poor quality, contaminants, lack of resources able to handle that item in a specific region or recycling installation, etc.;
-- Most recycled products are of low quality, especially paper;
-- It is actually cheaper and cleaner and takes less energy to produce items from virgin materials.

1. Conserve and protect valuable resources
and protect the environment
2. usable products from what we used to consider garbage
3. Make the world a better place by making it cleaner and greener.
4. Promote a clean and healthy environment to live and to let our kids and next generation live in.
5.Eliminat non bio-degradable waste
6.Reduce and eliminate landfill space
7.Preserve the planet and live in a clean planet.
8.Encourage local industries .
9. Stop presenting hazardous waste concerns
10. Being healthy

11. Recycl Glass Bottles to Save Resources & Energy

Recycling & the environment

Recycling and the environment

The removal of raw materials to make products, whether this is ore to make new metal or the cutting down of trees for the packaging industry, can be harmful to the environment.
The production of raw materials can destroy the natural environment, displace local communities, change the local conditions to threaten the lives of the local wild life, create large amounts of waste and use the earths limited natural resources.
It is estimated that for every tonne of waste thrown away an extra 20 tonnes of waste is created at the point where the raw material is extracted.
The earth's resources are limited and need to be managed properly in order to protect our environment for future generations. Using up the earth's natural resources to make products which we just throw away is not "sustainable", we cannot continue to keep doing this as we will eventually find the earth's bag of goodies is empty.

Managing our waste
Waste or rubbish is what people throw away because they no longer need it or want it.
Here in the UK, we produce more than 430 million tonnes of rubbish per year and the amount of waste we are producing is increasing every year.
We need to think about how we can use fewer resources ("get more out of less"), how we can make products last for longer (which means we use less and we throw away less) and how we can do better things with our so-called "waste" than throw it away. We need to see "waste" as a "resource".

The "waste hierarchy"
The waste hierarchy gives the following order of preference for dealing with our wastes - the top of the list being more desirable than the bottom of the list:

Reduce
Reuse
Recover (recycle compost recover energy)

Disposal

The best way of managing our waste is not to produce it in the first place

Landfill is the burying of waste. It normally involves the filling of holes created by previous mining activities or other hollow land. Landfill can cause significant environmental impacts and is seen as a "last resort". Sites produce what is known as landfill gas which is made up of 55% methane and 45% CO2, this can partly be used for energy.

The organic materials within a landfill are the main source of methane (a greenhouse gas responsible for global warming, 20 times more hazardous than CFC's) and liquid which may enter and contaminate water supplies.

The associated impacts that Landfill have upon the environment are;

Add to climate change and greenhouse effect.

Possible threat of water pollution by chemicals leaking from the site.

Waste valuable resources by just burying them.

Noise and visual pollution created by heavy traffic, smoke and dust.
Recycling comes under the 'recover' part of the hierarchy

It has many environmental advantages:

Recycling reduces the demand for raw materials. By recovering materials from old products we are removing or reducing the need to extract yet more raw materials from the earth.

Recycling means that we also avoid many of the additional environmental impacts associated with extracting the new resources, manufacturing and distributing the goods.

Recycling often uses less energy and causes less pollution than using raw materials. For example, the manufacture of bags from recycled rather than virgin polythene reduces energy consumption by two-thirds, produces one-third of the sulphur dioxide and one-half of the nitrous oxide, uses only one-eighth of the water and reduces carbon dioxide generation.

Recycling reduces the amount of waste going to landfill or incineration. Most importantly, when we bury or burn our rubbish we are losing valuable natural resources.
Recycling is a positive step, which we can take to help the environment. It encourages us to think about the waste we create and take responsibility for what happens to it. Ultimately this is the greatest advantage of recycling, as raising awareness is the first step towards changing the way we deal with any problem. As more people recycle, more recycling plants will be built and the impacts of transporting waste materials will decrease.

Recycling generally lowers the raw material requirements for the recycled materials. It can also be used as a means of generating energy from the waste. Many recycled items have secondary uses, such as using newsprint for animal bedding. A major hidden benefit is in the savings in landfill space required.For one with paper you don't have to cut down more trees so carbon dioxide emissions go down. Also you don't use up land by storing trash there. There are lots of benefits.

Large Trees
7,000 Gallons of Water
380 Gallons of Oil
4,100 KW of Electricity or Enough Energy To Heat or Air-condition An Average Home for 6 Months
Elimination of 69 Pounds of Air Pollution
In addition to that the income we received out of only waste materials.

The biggest advantage of recycling is that would better the natural environment on the whole. By recycling we minimize the usage of things that cause negative impacts to the nature which itself is a big thing for us to contribute. Proper waste management and tree growth (afforestation) would just better our life on earth.
